    Colleen believes that everyone deserves compassion and care as they work toward healing from addiction. When she reached out for help, she found recovery and guidance from women who had been through it before her. Their support inspired her to create Haven, a place built on the belief that one addict helping another is incredibly powerful. Haven is meant to be a safe space where that message of recovery can be shared with others. Colleen holds a master’s degree in clinical counseling.

Taylor is passionate about helping women and their families move beyond crisis toward greater connection, resilience, and hope. She is currently pursuing her CADC certification to further expand her ability to support and empower women in recovery.     Haley’s journey has included recovery from addiction and co-occurring mental health challenges, including Factitious Disorder, a diagnosis that can be especially difficult to face and talk about. Haley understands that reaching out for help with complex conditions like these takes tremendous courage, and she has embraced long-term therapy and support as part of her healing process. Her experiences have given her deep empathy and insight into the struggles that many women face, especially when dealing with more than one mental health condition. Haley’s story is a testament to the hope and possibility of recovery: with compassion, honesty, and the right support, lasting change can happen. Today, she empowers women at Haven, reminding them that they are not alone and that every woman deserves understanding and care as she moves toward a healthier, more authentic life.

Charlene is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Addiction Recovery at East Carolina University with the goal of becoming a counselor, so she can continue helping others heal, grow, and build meaningful lives in recovery. She believes strongly in giving back and passing along the hope and support that were once given to her.

    Kylie is currently pursuing a master’s degree in clinical counseling with a specialization in addiction. Her drive for helping others in recovery comes from her family’s history of addiction as well as her grandmother’s stories of struggles with substance abuse. She became inspired to support others in their healing journey through compassion, empowerment, and connection.

    Spirituality and holistic healing are at the core of who Kylie is. Her Native American roots and Reiki certification have driven her to seek a deeper meaning in life, believing there is so much more to life than what meets the eye. She strives to incorporate healing practices, mindfulness, and alternative perspectives to help others reconnect with themselves and find true meaning in their recovery journey.

    Victoria strives to bring hope and community to people walking in their personal journey. Victoria has lived experience with both mental health and substance use challenges. She has been affected by loved ones working with these challenges as well.  She is North Carolina Peer Support Certified and works at a peer-led organization as well. Victoria hopes to give back to the community that has so freely given to her, through her work at Haven. Victoria aspires to take her personal experience, recovery and peer support training to empower individuals around her.

    Although Angelia does not have immediate family members who have struggled with addiction, she has supported many friends who have faced these challenges. She has attended meetings with them and offered help in any way she could.

    Angelia’s connection to Haven stems from her longstanding relationship with the Balot family, who have believed in and trusted her for over 20 years across various roles. Having worked with many of their businesses, joining Haven in an accounting capacity felt like a natural fit. Seeing the financial responsibilities required to keep this program running has deepened her appreciation for the dedication of each team member and the work being done to support the women at Haven.
